In an era of streaming movies and TV shows, my husband and I still go to movie theaters every once in a while. It’s one of the ways to get out of the apartment and experience the world. Nightly dinner dates while trying to figure out what to watch before bedtime is a piece of work by itself. When the opportunity comes to go out you take it. One of our options is the movie theater.

We’re a few of the groups of people who don’t wait until the movie comes out on a streaming platform. If there’s a movie released that we took our time to wait for, we’re going to see it. If not, someone is going to lose their patience and press the rent button. Although it’s exciting to keep doing this habit, there is one thing destroying the fun. The price and size of the food.

Every time I go to the movies, I already know I’m going to be robbed by the concessions area. Between $15-$50 will be processed when I tap my debit card on those machines. Products like burgers, hot dogs, nachos, and alcoholic beverages are signs marked “EXPENSIVE!” Then when I receive my food, I find myself in total disgust. This isn’t a dinner theater meal.

This is a kid’s meal.
